I am currently a PhD student at the University of Colorado Boulder, working with Dr. Casey Fiesler as part of the Internet Rules Lab (IRL) as part of the Information Science Department. My current research focuses empowering marginalized people with different technologies in addition to investigating ways we can make online spaces safer for vulnerable and marginalized users.
Before starting at CU Boulder, I lived and worked in Anchorage, Alaska, where I earned my master’s degree from the University of Alaska. While working at a small non-profit promoting infrastructural development for rural villages across southwest Alaska, I saw how essential internet technologies have become to modern-day life. Through my own work, I hope to make online communities safer, more accessible spaces for those who need them most.
When not engrossed in research, I spend far too much time writing, reading, and road-tripping across the US. I’m also an avid gamer, and have a collection of more video games than I will ever play.
